Challenges experienced before Visentry

Insufficient guard force to cover the facility for possible threats. Significant camera coverage area represents challenges for a single guard per shift. Required patrols of after-hours guards are unmonitored, potentially leaving areas unchecked. The TL-2000 intercom system has reduced effectiveness due to location and height, increased noise levels picked up.

Overall impact on business/employees/customers

By using Visentry, HQ Capital cut security costs by nearly two-thirds. This enabled them to allocate those funds toward servicing the building and addressing building improvements and upgrades. Reallocations toward resources the residents could enjoy, such as the gym and the pool, improved resident retention and satisfaction.

Consequences of continuing to operate this way

Not receiving security alerts in real time or receiving detailed incident reports. A break-in is detected after the damage has been done and the perpetrator is long gone.

Urgency to find a security solution

Insufficient camera coverage created blind spots in resident common areas, fitness center lobby, public loading dock, penthouse, pool, patio and parking garages.

THE SOLUTION

For this luxury apartment building, Visentry worked with building management on a security plan to script duties, responsibilities and procedures for all detected security anomalies.

These act as the security “post orders” that replicate and enhance the “post orders” of in-person guards. For each alert, the remote guarding agent immediately reviews, monitors the triggered zone via the cameras and determines a course of action to mitigate the alert (typically in less than 30 seconds). The remote agent operates within the standard operating procedures to either intervene via a two-way speaker or call additional resources and/or first responders.

With the use of the ButterflyMX Smart Intercom Access System, the property was transformed into a tech-forward amenity that modern residents value. Tenants and employees can allow access to visitors through their smartphones by either giving a one-time code to unlock the door or viewing a live stream of the potential visitor upon arrival and then granting access.

An option to talk to Visentry’s remote concierge is available on the display screen of the device 24/7/365 for additional support. Throughout the day, our agents will act as a second line of defense in the case of visitors looking to enter the facility without using the ButterflyMX device.

Visentry’s remote concierge service includes, but is not limited to package deliveries, unannounced visitors, etc.

What Success Looks Like

With the building in the process of being sold, having the Visentry system in place has added $2 million to $3 million to the asking price. It made investors feel more comfortable, ultimately reflecting positively on HQ Capital as a company. It’s becoming a selling point to be able to mention the decrease in security costs without compromising resident safety. It’s become recognizable when reviewing the numbers, where potential buyers have asked about the sharp decline in security costs, and HQ Capital is happy to explain this is due to implementing Visentry .

Measurable Improvements

Saving over $100,000 per year on security costs enabled HQ Capital to put that money back into its facility and provide tenants with the renovations, updates and upgrades they could utilize

Overall Impact on the Company

Having a camera is one layer, but having a camera that’s linked to a guard with the ability to call the police or have a roving guard on-site to apprehend the suspect is highly beneficial and adds another layer of protection for tenants.
